Automation of 16S Metagenomic Sequencing Library Preparation
Microbial composition analysis by 16S rRNA sequencing has become a standard practice. The preparation before the sequencing remains tedious and time-consuming. Automated library preparation for next-generation sequencing is a critical step in improving quality and cost-efficiency. In collaboration with Tecan, the Genomics and Transcriptomics technological unit of BIOASTER has implemented the automated library preparation for the 16S V3-V4 regions (Illumina) using the Freedom EVO® 150 platform (Tecan). This work led to an application note cosigned with Tecan.
